Publication Committee

Publication Committee oversees CANN Journal Club and publication of proceedings from CANN symposia at ACS National Meetings. Journal Club is a monthly live webinar where CANN hosts a leading cannabis scientist to discuss a recent publication and/or hot topic in the industry. Proceedings are published in an open source format twice annually and provide extended abstracts from the presentations that take place at ACS National Meetings. Publication Committee also tracks cannabis focused peer reviewed publications with an eye on contributing to that space in the future.

CANN’s Journal Club is the only international cannabis chemistry webinar of its kind. Journal club focuses on recent peer reviewed publications in the cannabis science space and is open to the public free of charge. Sessions are held monthly and broadcast via webinar. Presentations are often made by publication authors themselves. This provides an excellent opportunity for audience members to learn from and interact with leading cannabis scientists.

Nigam B. Arora has been involved with ACS through academia since 2010. Upon entering the cannabis industry in 2017 I was ecstatic to learn that ACS had a cannabis chemistry subdivision. I was living in Boston at the time and began volunteering with CANN to recruit speakers for the Fall 2018 National Meeting. By Spring 2019 I had joined CANN’s EC as publication committee chair. My involvement with CANN has contributed greatly to my professional development and the expansion of my network.
